Nokia N97 just got updated, again. Well, firmware updates are always welcome even if there is nothing major on the list of changes. The only interesting news concerning the 21.0.045 firmware version is the improved kinetic scrolling, which should be smoother now.
As you already know, it's not long since the N97 got its highly anticipated system-wide kinetic scrolling. Unfortunately, it wasn't as smooth as expected.

The Nokia 6700 classic is a very classy device and we loved it. But then came the rambling designer that gold plates everything and classiness went out the window. Introducing the Nokia 6700 classic Gold Edition, covered in 18-carat gold and Nokia 8800 Gold Arte turned green with envy.

Nokia outed two new sliders today – the Nokia 6700 slide and the 7230. Both are 3G capable with a focus on messaging and social networks. The Nokia 6700 slide, unlike its namesake 6700 classic, is a Symbian device. The Nokia 7230 on the other hand runs S40.

GSMA announced the winners of the Asia Mobile Awards and the Mobile Innovation Grand Prix – Asia Tournament. Uh, they aren't really tournaments. they are Awards that seek out the best products and showcase new and upcoming companies with innovative offerings.

Following the official announcement that Nokia N900 starts shipping in Europe last week, Nokia today went ahead and confirmed Nokia N900 availability in the USA starting from today. Today Nokia reinforced the low-end part of their portfolio with four new handsets. Nokia 1616, Nokia 1800, Nokia 2220 slide and Nokia 2690 are all entry-level handsets with basic functionality and a really low price tag.

Nokia has a firm footing in the low-end and regularly release new entry-level phones, driving the price lower with each release. The Nokia 1280 is designed with remote rural areas of developing countries in mind and its specs reflect that.

The Nokia N97 software update 2.0 contains new user experience elements and functionalities. The standard version can be downloaded on the nokia update site. Prospects of updating via wap over the comming week is a must.
