gets a firmware update, Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10

Hold your horses – the XPERIA X10 migration to Eclair 2.1 hasn't begun yet. However Sony Ericsson released a major firmware update for their Android flagship improving its performance and stability.

So while you won't be getting much in terms of new features, there are very good reasons to accept the Over-the-air update, pushed to your XPERIA X10. Network data connection and Wi-Fi will both do the trick of downloading it, depending on your preferences.

everyone else told to wait, Samsung Wave brings Bada to Europe today

Samsung's Wave (otherwise known as the S8500) may not be coming to Vodafone UK until June 1st, but it's available somewhere in Europe starting today. still not announced , Motorola Droid Xtreme pictured yet again

Quickly becoming the most well-leaked handsets since the next iPhone, Motorola's fine little piece of kit informally known so far as the Droid Shadow / Xtreme has shown up yet again — and this time, we're getting a great view of that bulbous posterior. sells out in a flash 'Black' HTC Desire comes to Orange UK

part of some grander OS plans? Motorola rumored to have acquired Azingo

This one isn't official just yet, but if some changes in employment status on LinkedIn is any indication, it looks like Motorola may have recently acquired mobile Linux OS company Azingo. It may not exactly be a major player in the mobile OS field, but its Linux-based Azingo Mobile OS does look to be capable enough (complete with a Webkit-based browser and Flash runtime), and the acquisition is especially interesting in light of some recent comments made by Motorola co-CEO Sanjay Jha. While we can't honestly imagine an iDevice user going about their life without connecting to the iTunes App Store at least once in a blue moon — if not on a semi-permanent basis — the statistically-significant NPD Group decided to look into the matter regardless. Sure enough, the org reports that a full three-quarters of iPhone and iPod touch users in the US do indeed download apps and entertainment content from the internet. In case you're wondering, that figure beats the pants off ……
