KlimaJack – self regulating climate inside a jacket

The KlimaJack (Climate Jacket) research project, a collaboration between German clothing companies and universities under the lead of ITIV (Institute for Information Processing Technology) aims to create climate controlling wearable systems integrated into clothing.
Sensors integrated into the clothing’s fabric pick up vital body functions which are processed by miniaturized modules integrated in garments.
This research project which started two years ago and will be completed end of Feb 2011 will ……

Richard Etter, Diana Grathwohl and Sigmund Homolya created AwareFashion, clothing that senses and visualizes today’s invisible, digital layer of wireless networks that surround us wherever we are.
AwareFashion’s concept is based on the idea to visualize the digital environment we are living with, which surrounds use. All the radio waves, be it radio or TV broadcast, GSM for cellphones, WiFi, Bluetooth or GPS or other wireless systems.

Nokia’s Jucu factory achieve the LEED Gold rating

Added to the list of the the small number of one of most energy efficient and highly performing buildings in the world the Nokia’s factory in Jacu, Romania.

The factory encompases a number of green freatures including evergy saving to water usage, recycling, sustainable transport and superior working environment.

The bullding is 60,000,000 euro investment established in 2007 finialised in sept. 2008. making nokia one of the most important investors in Romania in the telecommunication sector .
